How do I read the Longevity IQ score?

The ring shows one number from 0 to 100 and the percentile it puts you in. Underneath, each of the six domains carries its own score, so the ring tells you where you stand overall and the bars tell you what is pulling it there.

  1. Open Dashboard. The ring is the first thing on the page.
  2. Read the number in the center, and the percentile label beneath it.
  3. Scan the domain bars below for the ones sitting lowest.
  4. The line under the bars tells you how many markers the score is built from.

Why it works this way

The score is a weighted composite, not an average. Cardiovascular fitness carries more weight than the rest because it has the steepest association with all-cause mortality, which the VO2 Max entry covers. A single number is only useful if you can see what produced it, which is why the domains stay visible next to it.

What you can change

Nothing on this screen changes the score directly. It moves when you add or update a marker in Your Lab, and the domain bars move with it.

Why do I only see four domains, not six?

Because Metabolic Health and Systemic Health both require bloodwork. They unlock once you switch to Advanced or Complete tracking in Your Lab and add the relevant markers. Basic tracking covers the other four domains from body measurements and fitness tests alone.

Why it works this way

The alternative would be to guess, or to score you on markers you have not measured. Both would produce a number that looks complete and is not. The tracking without bloodwork entry sets out exactly what the four available domains do and do not tell you.

What you can change

Switch tracking mode in Your Lab, then add the markers. Whichever domains are active, their weights are automatically rebalanced so the score always totals out of 100, which is why unlocking a domain moves the number even before you improve anything.

Why did my score change when I did nothing?

Two things cause it. Your tracking mode changed, which unlocks or locks domains and reweights everything; or you added or updated a marker in Your Lab, which recalculates that domain immediately. The score is never estimated or interpolated between visits.

Why it works this way

A score built on four domains and one built on six are not the same calculation, because the weights rebalance to total 100 either way. It only ever moves when your entered data does, so an unexplained change means an input changed rather than the app revising its opinion.

What you can change

If a change surprises you, check the marker count line under the domain bars against what you remember. The retest interval entry explains why some markers stop being current sooner than others.

What are the Healthspan and Lifespan numbers?

Two separate scores shown either side of your overall Longevity IQ. Lifespan is built from the markers whose research predicts mortality or disease risk. Healthspan is built from the markers whose research predicts functional capacity. Neither replaces the overall number.

Why it works this way

Living longer and staying capable are two different questions, and a single blended score can hide a gap between them. Splitting them means you can see which direction is pulling your total. Markers with substantial evidence on both sides, VO2 Max and compound strength among them, count toward both rather than being forced into one column. Smoking, drinking and a diabetes diagnosis apply to Lifespan only, since the research behind all three is mortality-focused.

What you can change

Nothing directly. Both move when the markers underneath them move, so improving grip strength lifts Healthspan while getting blood pressure down lifts Lifespan. The methodology sets out how every marker is classified.

Why is there a reduction on my score?

Smoking, drinking above two a day, or a diabetes diagnosis each apply a percentage reduction to your overall score. It is shown on the score itself, as its own row in Risk Radar, and as a full detail card in the marker breakdown, so it is never a number you have to go looking for.

Why it works this way

These three do not fit the percentile model everything else uses. Most people do not smoke at all, so there is no distribution to place you in. They are applied to the overall score instead, after the domain average, which is why your Cardiovascular Health score still reads only your measured cardiovascular markers. A measured number always means the same thing.

Several factors compound rather than adding up, so the total can never reach 100% however many apply. The methodology sets out every band, including why a diabetes diagnosis is deliberately weighted lower than heavy smoking.

What you can change

All three are editable on Profile at any time. Update one and the score recalculates immediately, so quitting smoking shows up the day you record it rather than at some later review.

What does the confidence rating mean?

How much of the picture the score is built from. High confidence means most tracked markers have real values behind them; lower means it is working from fewer inputs and should be read as provisional. Separately, a label like Top 10% means your value falls in the best 10% typically reported for someone your age and sex in published data, not the best 10% of this app’s users.

Why it works this way

Two people can both score 89 while one has entered 17 markers and the other six. Presenting those as equally certain would be dishonest, so the confidence label carries that distinction rather than hiding it inside the number.

What you can change

Confidence rises as you add markers. It is not a judgement of your health, only of how much the app knows.

What should I do after reading the Dashboard?

Go to the lowest domain bar, not the lowest single marker. The ranked priorities exist so you do not have to work that out yourself, and they are ordered by how much each one moves the score.

Why it works this way

Most tracking produces twenty numbers and no order. Ranking by impact is the point of the score existing, and the what you can actually change entry explains why some of those numbers respond to effort far more than others.

Worth knowing: a low score in a domain you cannot move much, such as one driven by Lp(a), is not the same instruction as a low score in one that responds to training.
